Here are a couple of interesting things from CSE and AIG.
Dr. Dino blasts Sarfati as a compromiser.
Dr. Sarfati’s book Refuting Compromise is awesome about the obvious compromise of Hugh Ross but he does not realize his own compromise in this area. It is my prayer that they will study the subject more thoroughly and repent of this grievous error. Their position clearly raises doubts about God’s Word, which is precisely what Satan did in the Garden of Eden when he said, “Yeah hath God said?” Our position at CSE is that God has preserved His Word for the English-speaking people in the King James Version.
And from the AiG email newsletter from 8/7/04:
Is evolution really sun worship?
Part of the evolutionist’s religion is that energy from the sun—acting on a primeval soup millions of years ago—caused the first life-forms to emerge. Thus, they believe that the sun really gave birth to living things. They are really giving glory to the sun’s energy for life.
Down through the ages, culture after culture has worshipped the sun. If you recall, the Israelites were warned not to worship the sun like the pagan nations around them.

As to sun worship: Copernicus was a neoplatonist, believing that the sun is a material copy of God, and, as the giver of life, deserves to be in the center of the universe. So the charge has a tiny historical echo to it.

Does the sun worship come with ritualistic virgin sacrifices? If so, count me in.

Some of us are really irreligious and don’t even worship the sun.

I really hope somebody’s getting all this down. I would hate for this kind of comedy to be lost. Perhaps we can start a project to archive AiG pages?

Hovind, “This is the same answer {Sarfati alleging copyist error in Luke 3:36} I would have given for the first 25 years of my Christian life and points out the problem encountered when people say they “defend the Bible” but cannot produce a copy of what they claim they are defending. Over the last 10 years I have slowly come to the conclusion that God did indeed preserved His Word for us today just as He promised in Psalm 12 and scores of other verses. God’s Word is not in some nebulous, non-existent “originals” that no one has seen in over a thousand years. It is here for us to hold and read today!”
Grammer errors not withstanding, this defense of the King James Bible as inerrant explains to me a peculiar experience I had attending the “debate” between Hovind and Shermer.
I sat among Hovind’s followers, and every time he said sometinh that was false, I said, “He just lied.” or “he just lied again.” or “Doesn’t anyone care that he is lying?” I wasn’t very loud and couldn’t be heard beyond a few feet, but by the end of the “debate” I attracted quite a few rather angry young men.
The odd thing was when a boy of middle teens shoved a Bible in my face (not the KJV, BTW). I took the book from him and thanked him. He was clearly disappointed with this result, and also surprised. I think that he hoped I might flee, or burst in to flames.
These people are insane.

I archive any decent AiG article I come across at my site. (Almost 3500+ crevo-related news articles to date. It’s a sickness, I know. :-)

Sun worship? I love these AiG guys. They make it obvious that anti-evolutionism is for dipshits.
